Praseodymium oxide is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula Pr6O11. It is a black powder with a density of 6.5g/cm3, a melting point of 2500 ℃, and a boiling point of 3760 ℃. Insoluble in water, soluble in acids to form trivalent salts. At 1500 ℃ and 15MPa pressure, Praseodymium(III) oxide can be obtained by hydrogen reduction of praseodymium oxide. Its properties include polishing materials, catalysts, catalyst carriers (additives), glazes, fuel cell electrolytes, automotive exhaust absorbers, Electroceramics, etc.
Applications:
1. Used in architectural ceramics and daily ceramics, it can be mixed with ceramic glaze to make color glaze, or can be used as underglaze pigment separately. The pigment produced is light yellow, with a pure and elegant color tone;
2. Used for manufacturing permanent magnets. Choosing cheap praseodymium neodymium metal instead of pure neodymium metal to manufacture permanent magnet materials significantly improves its oxygen resistance and mechanical properties, and can be processed into various shapes of magnets. Widely used in various electronic devices and motors;
3. Used for petroleum catalytic cracking. The activity, selectivity and stability of petroleum cracking catalyst can be improved by adding praseodymium neodymium concentrate into Y zeolite molecular sieve;
4. Used for abrasive polishing;
5. In addition, it is also used in the field of optical fiber.

The production method of Praseodymium Oxide is mainly oxalic acid precipitation, that is, Praseodymium(III) chloride or Praseodymium(III) Nitrate solution is used as raw material, the Ph value is adjusted to 2 with oxalic acid, and Praseodymium(III) oxalate is precipitated by adding ammonia water. After heating, curing, separation, washing, drying at 110 ℃, and burning at 900~1000 ℃, praseodymium oxide is formed. |
