Holmium acetate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Ho(C2H3O2) 3 ·4H2O, and it appears as a pale yellow crystal. It is soluble in water. At 18℃, about 25g of hydrate can be dissolved in 100mL of water. Soluble in benzene. Heated to 760℃, it decomposes into holmium oxide.
Applications:
1. Used as an additive in the chemical industry.
2. It can be used as a catalyst for various reactions.
3. Growth agents for crops.

Dissolve an appropriate amount of erbium oxide in a 50% acetic acid solution and heat it in a steam bath. Usually, erbium oxide can be completely dissolved. If there is a small amount of oxide remaining at the bottom of the container, it needs to be filtered. The obtained clear liquid was heated in a water bath at 75℃ to remove most of the solvent. Crystals precipitate when the solution cools. Filter the crystals, place them in a vacuum dryer containing granular sodium hydroxide and magnesium perchlorate, and dry them under vacuum to obtain erbium acetate hydrate. |
